WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
We arrived at the hotel to find the man at reception asleep on the sofa. Despite trying to wake him up, it took us calling the hotel phone to get him awake.
He was rude and barely handed us a key before heading to the toilet and barely closing the door to our horror because everything could be heard. No information was provided regarding breakfast or anything else nor was any help offered with our bags. The only focus was given on us letting him know when we intended to check out so he knew to arrive at the correct time.
We finally make it to our room. Though a clean room, the cables were untidy, the spotlight was coming out of its socket (health and safety concern) and the air con did not work. The shower does not work properly either and is barely adjustable. The outside garden area was also shoddy and not well kept.
Heading out to dinner, we found the man outside smoking a cigarette and on the phone. As we were leaving after a discussion about us coming from Scotland, he proceeded to say he doesn’t like people from Edinburgh as they are “too posh”.
The following morning, we found no milk in the room so we headed downstairs for breakfast only to be told there is no chef and he could offer us cereal but that the hotel was low on milk so we had to be careful in order to ensure there was milk for tomorrow.
Note that when we did head down for breakfast, rather than greet us, he rudely gestured for us to come out and meet him there as he was having his first cigarette of the day. He proceeded to tell us we were the only guests and that it would be a loss were the chef to be in for only us.
The worst part, he proceeded to sit with us (uninvited) and ranted about “the they/ them nonsense” and “how children in school should not be taught about sex education specifically about gay families”, how the “east india trading company helped india” and finally “India, China and Russia are laughing at Canadians and Brits because woke culture has ruined us”. There were many other xenophobic statements made that would likely hurt the sentiments of those reading this review.
When we suggested that his opinions were his own and controversial and that we disagreed he raised his voice and claimed it was not controversial and an opinion, it was honesty that people need to hear. How this unprofessional, arrogant and rude man continues to have a job here astounds me.
I would not recommend staying at this hotel.
Located right off Golders Green Road, this is in the perfect spot, walking distance to loads of local restaurants and convenience stores.
I really enjoyed conversing with the front desk clerk. Good conversation and knowledge about local businesses and culture.
The English Breakfast served was delicious.
The only downside was that the room could use a little more care. The AC was very loud and wasn't really cooling down the room. And there was a moldy smell.
BUT IT WAS STILL CLEAN! No hairs on the floor or dirty surfaces.
But to be fair, for the price i paid, i shouldn't really complain.
All in all, i will give them a 4/5 rating.
What a gem of a find in London. At first room had a shower and we really wanted a bath. Owner swapped our rooms instantly and was very gracious about it. 30 mins by tube to centre and lovely calm, quiet area, 2 mins from bustling shops. Very clean, very spacious and very cool.
Stayed here for two weeks. Hotel room was small, but was very clean. staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend
We recently stayed at the CCH for one night before boarding a ship in Southampton. Since I had never visited London before, I was pleasantly surprised. Management was very friendly and accomodating. You never see this in a large hotel. I would definitely stay there again.
This is a small personal boutique-hotel designed for the kosher traveller.|The location is unbeatable - in a quiet street 1-2 minutes walk from the kosher hub including Chabad, many shuls, a big variety of kosher food outlets and a 5-10 …
The hotel was in a perfect location for me to explore north London and central London. The hotel looks lovely on the outside and was quite nice inside. The room had a desk, decent TV, a fridge and a decent shower. It had air con. The bed was decent. My single room (number 18) was on the top floor and on the small side but fine for me as it was just a place to rest up and sleep. The only think is - it was difficult to sleep as my room was directly next to air conditioning units on the extended roof which whirred on and off all day and night. They sound like mini lawn mowers. Apart from not sleeping very well and getting a light headache the place is great!! If the sound of humming machinery sends you to sleep then this is the place and room for you. Number 18.
The location of the hotel is very good. It is a 10-minute walk from the subway station. There are supermarkets, fruit shops and some restaurants nearby. You can feel the life of the locals. It's just that the room is a bit small and I can't move forward after opening the box.
Very pleasantly surprised. Everything was great and better than anticipated. The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from Golders Green Road and a ten minute walk to the tube station. There is parking in front of the hotel, which is a bonus …
